Hickox Article: Kennel Considerations
... However, if the dog sleeps in your house and is put outside for short periods
of time, a tie-out system may be appropriate. This can also be a great choice when
traveling with a dog. The system that I recommend is The STAYK®, which is a rotating anchor post that will not clog or freeze up and
accommodates most leashes, chains or ropes. page 22

Hickox Article: Going Mobile
... For safety reasons (especially at feeding time), you may wish to stake out your
dogs separately. I recently discovered what I consider the best system
available:
The STAYK®
by Creative Designs. I have tested it in sandy soil, mud and grass fields (for
more information, see Field Gear, page 100). Not once has the unit tangled or become bound
up with debris, and I highly recommend it. pages 24-25

Leary Article: For Gear, Guns & Dogs
Hunting Dogs Editor George Hickox and I have found what we feel is
the most technically advanced dog stake-out system on the market. The STAYK®
is an innovative anchor post that is ideal for tethering dogs at home, in the field or in
"chain-gang" fashion, and it will accommodate a regular leash, chain , rope,
stationary or hand-held retractable leash. It can also be used as a training tool for
teaching commands like "Whoa" or "Stay." The STAYK®
has a rotation block for tether attachment and a rotation sleeve, both of which
move independently on a steel post driven into the ground. This allows the lead to unwind
no matter which way it is wrapped around the stake. Aside from offering tangle-free
operation, this is the first rotating stake-out we've found that will not clog with grass
and seize up in the field. The STAYK®
comes in Standard and
Pro models. The Pro has a -3/4" x 24" 303 stain less-steel rod and aluminum
sleeve and rotation blocks, whereas the Standard model has a 3/4" x 24"
cold-rolled steel rod, PVC sleeve and aluminum rotation block. E-clips and neoprene
bushings hold the sleeves and blocks in place, allowing you to change the position of the
rotation block from above the sleeve (for tethering) to below (for chain gang or training
situations). A steel U bolt through the block is secured by lock nuts with nylon sleeves
that need only be finger-tightened, for quick tether or release. Unlike with other
designs, there are no bearings in the StayK's rotation block to foul up with dirt or grit.
The block is drilled to a tolerance that lets it rotate freely on the rod without allowing
in debris. Although the STAYK®
carries a hefty SRP ($49.95 for
the Standard, $79.95 for the Pro), it is engineered to last a lifetime. The cost is a
small price to pay for your dog's well-being. page 102
